EXCLUSIVE SCHROEDER LEAKS!!! AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE BAND'S PROCESS! MORE TO COME!!

Here is the rough mix of Loneliness and Solitude. Let me know of any suggestions you may have.
There are a couple parts of my guitar part I’m considering redoing on my own time, because I’m a bit picky. I’m also considering adding some guitar parts over the pre-chorus because I played along and it sounds good, let me know what you think. Mostly just a couple fill type things that are not very melodic and therefore shouldn’t clash with the vocals. If I attempt it and it sounds like shit it won’t really matter to scrap that anyway. Well, thoughts, suggestions, and whatnot. I think it sounds pretty great, but of course the great part of recording this way is that we can easily tweak and re-record if necessary. Also on another listen I think the guitar may be too crunchy.

-James

Yeah, if you’re considering re-recording the guitar part I might consider re-recording drums, especially if I get pickier as we continue down the recording path. I agree that the guitar might be a little bit too crunchy, and if you wanna do it over that’s fine. Personally I’d like to hear the little guitar fills before you record them, but like you said it’s no problem to scrap them. If you feel like doing it before, say, tomorrow, just go ahead and do it and we’ll listen then. As far as drums go, I just wish i could make the snare louder and the hi-hat less tinny, although I think the nature of the genre and the way I’m playing the hi-hat makes it impossible for that to sound more clear. Also I wish that the one cymbal was louder. Maybe if I were to re-record we could try multiple mics on the drum set. On a positive note, the bass sounds nice.

-Alex

Agreed, liiiittle too crunchy, the hi-hat sounds weird also, drums could be miced more, other wise good playing and such alex, james i wanna hear these riffs that sounds interesting, record em and post a new track for me to hear, rob’s bass sounds awesome, also i love that wammy at the end of the second verse, totes funky I dig it, keep that, or at least we’ll see how it sounds with vocals, so overall awesome I can’t wait to get the vocals in, excellent job boys.

Don't Take Me Back Notes
t’s a bit of a mess right now, especially the ending, which Robert successfully ended at the right time, but Alex and I didn’t. Also the transition from the intro to the song is a bit awkward. There are two guitars playing, one panned to the left mostly and the other the right. Also I added a little thing during the intro which you will hear. Honestly, I just kind of wanted to put something out there at this point so that maybe we could work on corrections next band practice. But, let me know what you think, and what the necessary changes are. Keep in mind that the drums are more easily adjustable thanks to the three microphones.

-James

um yeah it is kinda a mess, the transition from the intro is pretty awkward that’s the first thing i noticed. like the intro guitar and the song, it sounds like two different guitars, like it sounds like the two bits were recorded separately or something, just something is definitely way off with that. also the intro needs to get louder, like it starts to then just stops increasing, it should be louder by the end, i dunno if you can do volume envelopes in mixcraft or if you just have to re-record it. i’m not sure how i feel about the added bit at the beginning i’d really have to hear it with vocals and everything else totally done and see how it sounds with the finished version, i mean it sounds nice just i dunno if it fits. i think overall the rest sounds good, i dunno how i feel about that tom it kinda sounds weird, but i probably just randomly noticed it for no good reason it probably doesn’t actually sound weird and it’ll probs sound fine with vocals.
um yeah so that’s me being picky and rude and i feel bad cause i wasn’t there and i’m just completely critiquing you guys and you probably already know all of what i said, but i just decided to be totally honest cause this is relatively important. Again, good work gentleman.
